You have to visit the Specsavers website. It has adorable photos of Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan (Rosie) who is now the Specsavers ’2012 Spectacle Wearer of the Year Ambassador’.
Specsavers have just recently launched a contest where if you send a photo of yourself wearing “specs”, you could win a modeling contract with MOT Models, a top London agency. Doesn’t that seem like the perfect contest for Ms. Rosie Webster to endorse?
Check out this two minute, behind the scenes video from the photo shoot. But I must warn you – there are spoilers!
Here are some snapshots of Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, 28, who is being rumoured to win the “Sexiest Female” award at the upcoming British Soap Awards this May.
Catherine (Eva Price) told reporters that she had lost over 4 stone (56 lbs!) before taking the role on Corrie. She’s definitely committed to keeping those pounds off, as seen here exercising outdoors earlier this month in Manchester. Something tells me her outdoor ‘work-out’ was more of a paparazzi opportunity because who looks this good when exercising? And where is her sports bra?
She told Now magazine:“Obviously I’m very proud of my weight loss, but I’ve still got body issues, like my stretch marks and my stomach. Compared to what I was when I was a teen, I’ve got nothing to complain about. I can walk and talk, I’ve got all my limbs, I’m healthy… so at the end of the day, what’s a stretch mark? I don’t ever want to be skinny. I like curves.” And we couldn’t agree more!
Bill Roache, who turns 80(!) next month, has admitted to bedding 1000 women in a recent interview with Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, that is set to air on April 12th in the UK. And you thought he was boring? He even fessed up to a previously rumored one night stand with Pat Phoenix (Elsie Tanner).
At the height of his philandering, Roache was married to his first wife. He admits to always feeling remorseful about his behaviour but couldn’t quite give up the lifestyle of temptation. His wife eventually found out and dumped the “Cock Roache” (I wish I could take credit for this nickname but it was fellow Corrie actors that gave it to him back in the day) and took the kids with her.
Roache has played Ken Barlow since the very first episode of Coronation Street and has had 28 on-screen affairs since his character’s introduction. I am sure the actor didn’t have to dig too deep to get in touch with his inner Casanova.
Bill Roache is currently on tour in Canada and is apparently exhausted by all the questions about his personal life and has since banned media from any further shows.
Remember Ben who was Sophie’s boyfriend? Look at him now!
Lucien Laviscount (sweet Christian Ben), is only 19 but already has an impressive resume with many television gigs in the UK (Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Grange Hill, Celebrity Big Brother 2011) and now he is breaking into the music scene. On April 22nd, he will be releasing a vibrant R&B single in the UK entitled “Dance With You”, which features American rap artist Mann.
No need to wait until next month to hear the song as the video for the single has just been released! Speaking at the video launch for “Dance With You”, Lucien said: “After all the hard work that’s gone into this video, I can’t believe it’s now ready for everyone to see. It’s the next part of a really exciting journey. I’m looking forward to people’s reactions.” The 6-minute video plays as a mini-movie so we get to see Lucien combine both his acting and singing talents (along with many scenes of him showing off his impressive physique – yet another talent)!
Now this is one Corrie character I wouldn’t mind seeing back on the cobbles!
The girl is not a quitter! Helen Flanagan is still focused on her new image after an unfortunate incident prompted her to reassess her style. What do you think of the £800 (about $1250!) hair extensions?

And the dress that started the makeunder movement:
Sorry, Mom.
Helen Flanagan (Rosie) got a lot of flak for this getup that she wore on a night out last week. The ‘embarrassed’ actress has since decided to pull herself together by pulling on some clothes. She told the Twitterverse that she would be trading in her plunging necklines for turtlenecks. Over the weekend she also tweeted – ‘‘No makeup days are the way forward’ – and she seems to be sticking to it! Let’s hope she keeps this up because she’s a fox without any effort!
Everyone seems to be sticking to their New Year’s resolutions of getting fit!
Alison King (Carla) and Katy Cavanagh (Julie) were spotted running together last weekend in Wilmslow, Cheshire. And good for them – running is killer!
Remember Katy Harris (played by Lucy-Jo Hudson)? She is doing the promotional rounds for her series Wild at Heart (ITV) and is looking fab in the process. Today she has been defending her weight loss on Twitter insisting that she lost the weight through hard work – eating right and exercising . Lucy-Jo adopted a healthy lifestyle three years ago during the lead up to her wedding to Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) and has still managed to stick to the healthier way of life (not easy!). She looks amazing! Love the blouse!
Alison King (Carla Connor) was snapped back in the fall as she took her two-wheeler out for a spin between filming scenes for Coronation Street. So stylish! So environmentally friendly!

Do you like the brunette Becky?
Katherine Kelly (Becky) had to go dark for a new stage role in the comedy She Stoops to Conquer at the National Theatre in London. The play will run from January 24 to March 28, 2012.
The best bit about all of this is that on March 29th, the play will be broadcast to cinemas around the world (yes, even Canada)! For a list of participating theatres, click here. I am very excited as my local is on the list! Booking my tickets now!
Remember the Behind The Street Exhibition that was held at Generation Pop early last year? The event showcased twenty-two beautiful black and white portraits taken by Coronation Street resident photographer, Rob Evans, in celebration of the show’s 50th anniversary.
The portraits went under the hammer in February 2011 and managed to fetch over £8600 for Corrie’s 50th Anniversary Appeal which sponsored 3 charities – NSPCC, Cancer Research UK, and The Christie.
Here are a few stunners that were never put on display at the exhibition. Love the pic of Bex in her trainers. Which is your favourite?
I just stumbled upon these glammed up photos of Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) on photographer Mark Waugh’s blog.
The makeover pics were taken last May. The team at Art-Deco and James Roberts Hairdressing created this modernized flapper-girl look for Brooke. Love it!

How does Michelle Keegan (Tina) look so amazing after the holidays? Guess she passed up on the fruitcake.
Michelle, 24, and her fiancé Max George, 23, are currently soaking up the sun in Barbados. Max and his band – The Wanted – performed on the island on New Year’s Eve so the pair decided to make it into a holiday.
The press have been dying for a snap of Michelle in her bikini as previously she was only seen in beach cover ups. It is a tough life being a pap….
What happened on Coronation Street last Christmas? The Street was still dealing with the aftermath of the tram disaster and there was a surprise visit from Tracy Barlow, fresh out of the slammer. And how can you forget John’s painfully uncomfortable Crimbo dinner with Charlotte’s parents? What will happen this Christmas on the cobbles? We will find out sooner than we think with the Corrie Catch-Up in full swing!
